Practical Bag for QuiltCon

This is my second time making Tanya Whelan's Practical Bag pattern. I love this pattern, as it's an easy sew and the size and shape of the bag is perfect for a sweater, water bottle, and notebook....all the things I needed to carry around for my QuiltCon lectures.  Lightweight interfacing, fused to the Echino linen print adds a bit of extra stability to this bag. Another Practical Bag in an organic canvas with modifcations for longer straps is in the works for a beach bag!
What is your favorite go-to bag pattern?
Have a Happy Day!

Palm Springs = Sewing in Style

I am overly excited, jumping out of my chair with joy.
In two weeks I will be hanging out with fellow fabric junkies for a weekend in Palm Springs with Heather Ross and Lotta Jansdotter! Heather is bringing some of her other fabulous and talented friends as well!

I am thrilled to meet all the oh 'sew' talented designers and sewists attending the second week. I am a bit bummed out that I don't get to meet some of my online artsy BFF's going the first week though ): . To avoid sounding like a spoiled, complaining brat, I shall proceed below...

I hope to have a weekend of relaxation, spa-ing, learning a million new sewing tricks AND OF COURSE coming home with a couple, always-to-be-treasured completed objects.

I am bringing all my 'good stuff' too; the kokka, the out of print Heather Ross Stash, some Belgian linen to hopefully paint-or stamp and some super soft cotton voiles for clothing.

As a lot of those close to me know, my husband is deployed. This vacation and a new sewing machine were his Christmas gift to me. Nice guy eh? I think I will keep him ;). Hope he feels the same!
Have a happy day,
Lynsey

Happy Handmade Holidays...well sort of.

This year I have developed quite a few crafty habits. As a result, I became overly ambituous, dedicating myself to make all handmade gifts for Christmas.
I made handmade gifts for Christmas, but being the shopaholic that I am, I of course did massive damage at my favorite stores as well.
Back on track, crafting, okay crafting (not shopping). I created this pillow for my husband's grandparents and began experimenting with making pot holders this week.
I will reveal more of my handmade creations after Christmas. I don't want to ruin the suprise for my well-deserving recipients.
Have a happy day,
Lynsey
